Work Packages & Deliverables
Explore the main objectives and outcomes for each phase of the project.
Focuses on the coordination, quality assurance, and risk management of the entire project to ensure smooth progress and high-quality deliverables across all partner countries.
Main Objective
Work Package 2 (WP2) focuses on designing a methodological framework for Educational Escape Rooms (EER) tailored to the needs of pre-service and in-service teachers. This framework will serve as the foundational starting point for developing the TAITALE mini-MOOC and Authoring tool software.
Specific Objectives
The WP utilizes a collaborative, transdisciplinary co-design approach to achieve the following:
- Mapping Needs: Identifying digital educational strategies and the specific needs of teachers in training.
- Co-Creation via Focus Groups: Engaging teachers and educational experts to co-design TAITALE's tools, treating them as co-authors rather than mere subjects of analysis.
- Developing Guidelines: Creating practical guides on how to integrate innovative tools (like the Internet of Things and Mixed Reality), digital creativity, and tangible material manipulation into everyday teaching.
Main Results and Outcomes
The primary output will be a scientifically validated practical guide and training framework, developed through strategic focus groups across four partner countries (Italy, Poland, Spain, and Greece).
The final framework will feature:
- Pedagogical Integration: Implementation of modern methodologies such as digital storytelling, digital crafting, experiential learning, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Team-Based Learning (TBL).
- Subject-Specific Applications: A division of Escape Room applications into STEM and Humanities, supported by the specific expertise of project partners (covering Science, Technology, Engineering & Math, Literature, Languages, Art, and History).
- Comprehensive Training Model: The final model will explicitly define the training objectives, target skills, inclusive pedagogical strategies, and practical solutions for the hurdles teachers may face when implementing Educational Escape Rooms in their classrooms.
Main Objective
The primary goal of WP3 is to design and deliver the TAITALE mini-MOOCs. These courses aim to provide practical support to educators, enhancing their competencies in digital creativity and Educational Escape Room (EER) methodologies.
Specific Objectives & Approach
To achieve the main goal, WP3 focuses on several key sub-objectives, including defining the syllabus, developing multimedia learning content, integrating the MOOC with the project's software, defining certifications, and presenting the platform.
Pedagogical and Technical Framework:
- Collaborative Learning (cMOOC): Unlike traditional MOOCs, this approach relies on connectivism. It fosters self-organized, collaborative learning and communication among participants, while maintaining enough structure to prevent chaotic learning environments.
- Format: The courses are designed as mini-MOOCs—modular, short courses lasting no more than two hours. They will feature downloadable, reusable materials such as videos, podcasts, interactive presentations, and quizzes.
- Platform & Standards: The courses will be hosted on Moodle and built according to formal quality standards (ELOT:1429 and MOOQ’s Quality Reference Framework).
Main Results and Outcomes
By Month 23 of the project, WP3 will deliver a tangible, fully developed set of mini-MOOCs.
Key Deliverables Include:
- Multilingual Accessibility: The courses will be available in 5 languages (English, Italian, Polish, Spanish, and Greek).
- Expert-Led Modules: Each topic will be managed by a consortium partner with specific expertise. The modules will cover:
- Digital creativity
- Gamification and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Educational Escape Rooms (EER) and digital crafting
- Storytelling applications in lessons
- Practical examples of EERs
- Guidelines, examples, and tutorials for using the software to design and implement EERs.
Main Objective and Contribution
WP4 is dedicated to designing, prototyping, and developing the TAITALE Authoring Tool software for the co-creation of Educational Escape Rooms (EERs). By integrating the Internet of Things (IoT), mixed reality, and Tangible User Interfaces (TUI), this tool allows educators to easily introduce innovative, hybrid teaching practices. It bridges digital interactivity with the physical classroom, promoting a highly customizable, multisensory, and inclusive learning experience for all students, including those with sensory impairments.
Specific Objectives
The work package is structured around three primary goals:
- Software Design: Developing the TAITALE Authoring Tool.
- Co-Design: Actively involving teachers in creating game templates and Open Educational Resources (OERs).
- Platform Availability: Releasing the software specifically for Windows devices.
Implementation Features
The Authoring Tool will guide teachers through both digital and physical game creation:
- Digital Implementation: Educators can design customizable game logic across various sensory activities, integrate co-created multimedia materials, and apply personalized positive or negative feedback to boost motivation through gamification.
- Tangible Implementation: The tool provides practical guidance on turning ordinary, real-life items into Smart Objects using TUI technology.
Main Results and Outcomes
The ultimate output is a fully functional Authoring Tool designed to support pre-primary and primary school contexts. Key deliverables include:
- The TAITALE Software: A tool that leverages a hybrid approach to enhance real-world environments with digital technology and situational learning.
- Tailored Educational Solutions: A co-creation strategy that ensures the final games are perfectly adapted to the specific needs and targets of the students.
- International Hackathon: A collaborative event bringing together students, teachers, and experts to brainstorm and co-design realistic EER scenarios, which will conclude with a transnational meeting to finalize the creative process.
Main Objective and Contribution
Work Package 5 (WP5) focuses on applying the TAITALE training model within Teacher Education courses in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). It bridges the gap between theory and practice by transitioning the pedagogical framework (developed in WP2) into real-world school and out-of-school environments. By actively engaging stakeholders and policymakers, WP5 provides a clear roadmap to integrate these innovative teaching methods into educational practices, even in regions lacking formal provisions.
Specific Objectives
The core goals of WP5 are structured as follows:
- Integration and Testing: Embedding the TAITALE model into national school programs and conducting small-scale pilot tests.
- Transferability and Scaling: Formulating actionable recommendations to help stakeholders transfer and scale up the project results across various educational contexts.
- Broad Adoption: Facilitating the spread of the project's methodologies to organizations outside the initial consortium.
- Policy Impact: Reaching education policymakers to encourage the adoption of the model and exploring formal international certifications.
Main Results and Outcomes
The primary output of WP5 will be an accessible, multilingual manual integrated directly into the TAITALE authoring tool and available on the project website. This manual will guide stakeholders in using the software and implementing Educational Escape Rooms.
Key deliverables and strategic achievements will include:
- Comprehensive Guidelines: A practical handbook detailing the software's structure, goals, and methodologies, enriched by data and real-world examples gathered from the international hackathon.
- Validation and Certification: The validation of the TAITALE training model coupled with an innovative approach to certifying skills through flexible, modular learning pathways and micro-credentials.
- Policy Recommendations: Dedicated strategies for integrating the project into national curricula and securing formal EU-level recognition for skills acquired in both formal and informal settings.
- Dissemination: The official presentation and distribution of the manual to teachers, education experts, and other stakeholders during the project's concluding events.
